Hello! And Welcome! It's Mother's Day here in Australia this coming Sunday. Traditionally for us here in Australia, it falls on the second Sunday of May. Our COVID19 restrictions have eased a little so we plan to enjoy a Brunch with my mother-in-law and then Dinner with my mum. These are the cards I have made for each of them and I can safely show you what I have created beforehand as, like most mature ladies of their generation, the world wide web is a rather scary place that neither have any inclination to venture into.
Both these cards were created using the Under My Umbrella stamp set and co-ordinating punch. The card on the left has a Pear Pizzazz base and uses the Bird Ballard Designer Series Paper. The card on the right has an Old Olive base and I have used the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. The card fold is a new one for me and I believe it's called a centre-step fold. It may seem a bit daunting to begin with, but like everything else, the more you do the easier it is. My lovely cousin, Bronwen Stewart sent me a card with this fold a few weeks ago and I couldn't wait to try it out for myself.
Start with a piece of card stock 11" and 4 1/4". Use the diagram and instructions below as a guide. To decorate, I've cut 2 pieces of co-ordinating Designer Series Paper at 7/8" x 4 3/8" and one piece at 2 1/8" x 4 3/8".
For both cards, I have die cut a piece of vellum with the Stitched Nested dies then stamped and punched the closed umbrella in co-ordinating Designer Series Paper as well as two handles on Whisper White card stock I have also stamped a few of the small flowers also from the same stamp set also on Whisper White card stock and coloured using our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I've gone ahead and fussy cut the flowers and adhered on each umbrella for the card on the right. For the other one, I just fussy cut some of the flowers on the Designer Series Paper. I've placed this arrangement on the centre section of the card.
For the sentiment I used the "Happy Mother's Day" stamp from Timeless Tulips.
The Under My Umbrella stamp set and punch are currently available to purchase as a bundle and you can save 10% if you want to purchase them together.
