Thinking of You, My Friend

A long time friend of mine recently lost her father.  What can I say?  It's taken me a week to get around to creating a card for her as we all know these are the hardest cards to send, let alone make.  Trust me, I seriously thought of just buying a card for her and then felt disappointment in myself that I should even consider it.

This is the card I made for this special lady. I started with a Crumb Cake card base and because I didn't trust myself, I then stamped the leaves from Very Versailles twice on a Crumb Cake layer in Night of Navy ink to create a border down the right hand side.  Once that had completely dried, I used the same stamp to create a gold heat-embossed overlay over the top.

For the sentiment, I took the "Thinking of You" stamp from Woven  Heirlooms and stamped it in Night of Navy on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock the same width as the layer. To bring focus to the words, I layered that on a piece of Night of Navy card stock ever so slightly wider - just enough to bring it attention.

On the inside, I stamped the leaves again on a piece of Whisper White card stock and adhered in down.

I tried to keep it simple and let the images and words speak for themselves.  Love and hugs my friend.
