I was asked by my youngest daughter to make an Engagement card for a friend of hers. I love that my kids prefer to give their friends a hand-made card rather than a store bought one. It makes my heart so happy!
My card is very much inspired by Emma Goddard and is made a little more luxurious by using a larger card base which measures 5" x 7". This is my preferred size for special occasion cards. It features the floral stamp from Tasteful Touches stamp set which was stamped three times in Blushing Bride and fussy cut. The sentiment came from Forever Fern stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and die cut from the Tasteful Label dies.
For the background, I took one of the Greenery Embossing Folders and embossed a piece of Sahara Sand card stock measuring 3 5/8" x 6".
I distressed the edges by
running the blade of my scissors along the edge of the card stock. I also used pieces of the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper but instead of using the gold side, I have flipped them over and used the white side.
