snowflake card
Hi everyone and I hope you are all well.
Last weekend I held my classes for September and for something a little different, we made these fabulous Snowflake Cards. My attendees had the choice of Christmas or non-Christmas and they also had a choice on how to decorate the inside to a point. I CASED this project from UK Demonstrator, Angelina at Intatwyne Designs. Her version is here
For my project I used Basic Black and Whisper White and a little bit of Vellum card stock, Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (DSP), Under My Umbrella Stamp Set and co-ordinating Umbrella Builder punch. All stamping was done in Momento Tuxedo Black then images coloured in Dark and Light Basic Gray, Dark and Light Poppy Parade and Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I kept to this colour scheme throughout the whole card. The ribbon I used is the Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
Once all the pieces of card stock and DSP were cut, I was really surprised at how quickly it all came together.
When the card is opened, it very much looks like a snowflake, hence the name.
Measurements for this are as follows (I apologise as these are only in imperial measurements as I prefer to craft in inches):
Cardstock:
6 @ 8″ x 5 3/4"
On the 8″ side score @ 4″
6 @ 8″ x 5 3/4"
On the 5 3/4″ side cut from 1" – 7″ on both sides
On the 8″ score @ 4″
Inside score @ 1", 1 3/4", 6 1/4" and 7″
Outside score @ 2" , 6"
Inside Panels: 7 @ 2" x 3 1/2"
Panel: 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2"(optional)
DSP:

Monogramme and Card featuring Beautiful Friendship and Framed for You Stamp Sets
Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Birthdays are plenty this month, nearly every second day and there are a couple that are extra special to me. For these, I created a stamped monogramme to go along with their hand made card.
I started by printing out the outline of their initial in New Times Roman font in the largest size to fit my A4 paper - for me this was 700. I then went and traced this onto a sheet of A4 Whisper
White card stock using a method that can be erased once finished. Picking out stamps to fit, I stamped my images inside the traced outline, starting with the largest images and filling in with the smaller ones. When I knew my monogram was well and truly dry, I went and erased the outline. I trimmed down my A4 sheet to fit in a frame.
It really doesn't take a lot of effort but the results are amazing!
I went and created a birthday card using the same
stamps and ink colours, stamping both a card front and a corner of the
card insert.
Supplies:
- Card stock: Soft Sea Foam card base, Misty Moonlight matte layer, Whisper White for stamping and card insert.
- Stamp Sets: Beautiful Friendship, Framed for You, Forever Fern (dot stamp)
- Inks: Rococo Rose, Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Soft Sea Foam
Other items:
- Frame or Shadow Box suitable for stamped monogramme

Watercolour Peace on Earth - Colour INKspirations Challenge #85
Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! Today I'm sharing my entry for Colour INKspirations Challenge #85. For my card, I got out my water painters and attempted a watercolour background in the challenge colours to create a Christmas card in contemporary colours.
My first to attempts were way too dark for my liking but I finally managed to get something closer to what I had planned. Taking my E stamping block, I pressed each corner into each of the stamp pads to pick up some ink and using the Water Painters, I wet my watercolour paper with plain water before watering down my inks and applying them to the paper. I like to let this dry naturally but if you are really pushed for time, you can use your heat tool. It does fade the colours a little doing it this way though.
Once this was completely dry, I went and run this piece through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Suble 3D embossing folder to add a little more texture. The 'star' die in the Christmas Layers Dies was perfect for my contemporary look and was cut from regular Whisper White cardstock. This was glued onto my water colour piece along with two extra 'stars' to fill the gaps.
I die cut 'Peace' from the Peace & Joy Bundle in Rich Razzleberry cardstock but felt it got lost on the background, so to help define the word a little more, I decided to die cut the next size up in vellum (this die will also cut the stamped Peace image). To finish my sentiment, I stamped 'On Earth' in Rich Razzleberry ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and trimmed.
Once everything was adhered to the watercolour piece, this was then stuck down to my card base using foam dimensionals.
Supplies:
- Inks: Pear Pizzazz, Misty Moonlight, Gorgeous Grape, Rich Razzleberry
