Colour INKspiration Challenge #93 - Happy Birthday featuring Playful Alphabet Dies

Hello and thanks for popping in!

My card for Colour INKspiration Challenge is a little different this time around.  My inspiration came from a You Tube video I saw in January 2021 by the lovely Natasha Foote and is very similar to Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strip Technique except the strips are glued to a piece of Window Sheet which gives dimension. Something a little bit different in that there is no stamping.

Supplies Needed:

  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick (card base),Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Sahara Sand, Window Sheets, Basic Black
  • Dies: Playful Alphabet Dies, Stitched Rectangles
  • Adhesives:  Tear & Tape,  Foam Adhesive Strips, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Tools:  Silicone Craft Sheet, Cut & Emboss Machine
All supplies can be purchased through my online store here or by clicking on the 'Online Store' tab at the top of this page.

How To Assemble:

Cut strips of card stock longer than your card front.  I have cut mine @ 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" widths and at least 4 1/2" long. This is a great project for using up those scraps.

Arrange them in an order that is pleasing to yourself.

Cut a piece of Window Sheet at least the size of your card front.

Attached the strips of card stock using Tear & Tape leaving a small gap in between.  Because my strips were longer than my piece of Window Sheet, I used my Silicone Craft Sheet underneath so my strips wouldn't stick to my work surface.

Taking the largest rectangle die, I die cut though all layers.  You may need to run it through your machine more than once to get it to cut all the way through.

Using the Playful Alphabet Dies, first due cut the words 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' into your card topper. Then again in Basic Black cardstock.
To add dimension, I used Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the card topper under the cardstock strips.

Stick this down on your card base then glue down your letters into the spaces left from die cutting your topper.  I used Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue as it gave me wriggle time to get each letter in place.

Close up.

View of the layers.  The black letters are glued directly down onto the card base.  The Window Sheet topper is adhered using Foam Strips.

I love the shimmery look you get with using the Window Sheet
