Colour INKspiration Challenge #95 - Butterfly Brilliance Bundle

Hello crafty friends!  Welcome and thanks for popping in.

The card I have created for this challenge uses a bundle Stampin' Up! have pre-released from their next Annual Catalogue which is due out 4th May. Thank you Jacque Williams for choosing the photo for Challenge #95.

Prepare yourself for a burst of butterflies with the Butterfly Brilliance Background Stamp. This stamp will be super versatile enabling you to create projects for Mother’s Day, weddings, birthdays and more. You can pair this stamp with greetings of your choice to customise it for the season or occasion.  My card today uses the line-art image and I've added colour with the Stamp' Blends alcohol markers in the challenge colours. There are quite a few different options when it comes to creating a unique look. Whatever you decide to do with it, the results will be fabulous!

The bundle also includes dies to create beautifully detailed butterflies for all of your paper-crafting projects. Once you’ve cut out a swarm of butterflies, you can create a background, make a focal point, or use them as accents. There’s so much you can do.

Supplies Needed:
  • Butterfly Brilliance Bundle
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick A4 (card base), strips of Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Gold Foil, Basic White scrap (for gluing your strips on)
  • Inks:  Blackberry Bliss
  • Stampin' Blends: Balmy Blue Light and Dark, Blackberry Bliss Light and Dark, Highland Heather Light and Dark,  Purple Posy Light and Dark (because Stampin' Up! don't have Gorgeous Grape in the Stampin' Blends)
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Mini Dimensionals
  • Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips (scissors), Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Stampin' Spritzer
How to Assemble:

Cut strips of cardstock to fit your card front.  These measure 4" x 1".
Tip:  Use those scraps!

To add texture to each strip, take a Spritzer bottle and gently spritzed each piece of cardstock and carefully scrunched them up.  Open them up and allow to dry.

To make assembling easier, I adhered the Gold Foil strips to the coloured cardstock leaving one strip without. I left it this way so that both ends were the same.

Arrange your strips and adhere to the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock then glue this piece onto the card front.

Stamp the Butterfly Brilliance Background Stamp in Blackberry Bliss ink

Using Stampin' Blends, I coloured the butterflies using the challenge colours, starting with the darkest colours on the inside and working out with lighter.

Love how these pens blend so well together!

Die cut using the co-ordinating die set and choose which butterflies you prefer and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

Don't forget to stamp a butterfly inside to finish your card!
