Colouring INKspirations Challenge #100 - Treasured Medallion Watercolour

 

 

Hello crafty friends!  Welcome, and thanks for popping in!

The latest Colour INKspirations Challenge has just opened up over on our Colour INKspiration Challenge Facebook Page and the photo for this challenge was picked by founding crew member, Bronwyn Eastley and comes from Bridestowe Lavender Farm in Tasmania.  Our Guest Designer this fortnight is Karen Hadler.

 

Colour INKspiration was founded by our lovely Bronwyn Eastley in 2017. She originally thought she would get a few friends together and start a Blog Hop but then someone suggested maybe a Facebook Colour Challenge.  Out of the original 25 Crew Members, we still have eight and the very first challenge was on January 11, 2017. Today we celebrate Challenge #100!!

 

My card for this challenge features the Treasured Medallion stamp set from Stampin' Up and uses watercolouring to add colour to a heat embossed image.

 

Supplies needed:  

• Stamp Set: Treasured Medallion (J-J 2021 Mini Catalogue)
• Cardstock:  Magenta Madness (card base), Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Basic White
  
• Inks:  Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black
  
• Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper
  
• Basics Embossing Powders (Black)
• Reinkers:  Gorgeous Grape, Magenta Madess, Bermuda Bay
• Water Painters
• Stitched Rectangle Dies
• Embellishments: Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  
• Adhesives:  Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
• Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Heat Tool, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Card Assembly:

 

 

Stamp the medallion image in Versamark Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and heat emboss in black Embossing Powder and allow to cool.

Add a drop of re-inker in your choice of colours to an Acrylic Block and mix with a small amount of water.

 

Take a Stampin' Spritzer and lightly spritz the stamped image.

 

 

 

  

Using the fine-tip Water Painter, add ink to your image.

 

The wetter your image is to begin with, the more the ink will spread

 

 

 

 

Trim down using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

 

 

 

 

You will need: 

A piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring roughly 3 1/8" x 4 1/2"

A piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock measuring roughly 3 1/4" x 4"

A strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock measuring roughly 3/4" x 5 1/4"

A piece of Magenta Madness cardstock measuring 4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2" to create a top folding card base. 

 

Arrange the cardstock and adhere with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Add a few sequins from the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.  

Love using these embellishments, being adhesive-backed, they are so easy to apply and the colours work with everything!

 

 

 

 

Lastly, to finish off the inside of my card, I took a piece of Basic White cardstock and stamped the medallion image in the bottom right corner and adhered this into the centre.
