Creating Kindness Around The World - Clean & Simple Design feat Dragonfly Dreams

I am thrilled to have been asked to be Guest Designer for the Creating Kindness Around the World Blog Hop this month.  I want to thank the regular Team members for the very warm welcome they have given me.

The theme for October is Clean And Simple (CAS) and I loved the challenge of creating a card with this in mind- it's a style I adore but struggle to execute, my cards are usually anything but!

The Stamp Set I have chosen to work with is Dragonfly Garden which is available in our 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. I also grabbed out the Kraft 6" x 6" Paper from the J - D Mini Catalogue.

 Supplies Needed:

  • Stamp Set: Dragonfly Dreams
  • Dies: Stitched Rectangles, Stitched So Sweetly
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick (card base), Kraft 6" x 6"
  • Ink:  Stazon, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories: White Stampin' Chalk Marker
  • Tools:  Mini or Regular Stamp & Cut Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Multipurpose Glue

To create the stitched square and the scalloped squares for the front of the card, I die cut a full scalloped rectangle from Stitched  So Sweetly Dies and a full stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies then cut it down with the same die being careful to roll it through the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine to only go over that edge.

Stamp the image on the square piece of Kraft paper in Stazon back ink and use the White Chalk Marker to colour the flowers. You could also use the Craft Ink Refill and a Water Painter or brush if you don't have the Chalk Marker.  I used the White Chalk Marker again to add some splatters for texture.

Create a card base with Basic White Thick cardstock.  Glue the scalloped square and your stamped image to the square piece of Kraft paper and attach this to the front of your card with Dimensionals.

Stamp your sentiment below and to the right of where you've placed your stamped image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink or you could easily use Stazon Black ink again.

And that's it!  Clean And Simple!
