Watercoloured Christmas Wreath - Colour INKspiration Challenge #173

Welcome and thanks for stopping by!

It's time to share another card for Colour INKspiration.

Challenge #173 has opened over on Facebook and the inspiration photo was chosen by the Colour INKspiration Founder, Bronwyn Eastley and our Guest Designer is the amazing Leigh Mahoney.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.

Anyone else get Christmas vibes when you see this colour palette?  Maybe not, but this is road I decided to go down.  My card features two products:  the first is the Encircled In Nature Dies which is an Online Exclusive, and the second is the gorgeous Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder which was used to create background texture.

The card base was created with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and then layered with Very Vanilla which was embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.  To create the wreath, two pieces of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was coloured using Shy Shamrock on one and then a combination of Shy Shamrock and Cherry Cobbler on the other.

HOT TIP:  As these two colours are opposite each other on the colour wheel, they will go grey/muddy if mixed together too much.

Both of these were used to die-cut a selection of leaves using the oak leaf style die.  These were layered onto a Cherry Cobbler wreath using the berry design, alternating each colour and allowing the red berries to show themselves every now and then.

Once completed, this was glued onto the card front offsetting over to the right-hand side.  You could also centre it if this is more your style.  Trim any leaves that are overhanging.

The sentiment comes from the Greetings Of The Season Stamp Set but please use whatever you have in your collection.  It was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and fussy cut and attached using Mini Dimensionals.

A second piece of Very Vanilla was added to the inside with a couple of leaves glued to the bottom-left corner.
