Reverse Bokeh Technique - Colour INKspiration Challenge #177

 Hello and welcome!

And thanks for stopping by!

Today I would like to share with you a project which I created for  Colour INKspiration Challenge #177.  Our inspiration photo was chosen by fellow Crew Member Cathy Pinchbeck and our Guest Designer is the fabulous Sandra Stobel.

The colour palette is an amazing one this time around.  It's bold and rich especially when we've teamed it with gold.  I took inspiration from the Christmas theme and created a Christmas card using the reverse bokeh technique.  And by using a little ink blending, I was able to tone down those strong colours into something more to my taste.

To begin this project, I firstly needed to create a stencil using some old circle dies and a piece of Window Sheet.  I cut six or seven different sized circles into the piece of acetate which then allowed me to create a background by ink-blending using the Challenge colours on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I roughly created a flattened rhombus shape using larger circles in the centre then going down in size as I coloured closer to the edges.

To save on foil, the Christmas word was die-cut out of the middle of the piece of foil before matting this with the piece of coloured Basic White cardstocking which was then glued to the front  of the card.

The decorative element was die-cut using the Thoughtful Wishes Dies in Basic White cardstock, trimmed into two and also ink blended with Melon Mambo  and Pretty Peacock inks. These were glued to the left side of the card front.

The Gold Foil Christmas was matted onto the co-ordinating die-cut layer of Basic White.  This was attached to the card front using Mini Dimensionals. Merry was stamped using Greetings of Season Stamp Set and trimmed.  This was also attached to the card front with Mini Dimensionals.

Gold sequins were added to complete the front.

To finish the card, more ink blending was done on a piece of Basic White in opposite corners and glued inside.
