Watercolour Christmas - Colour INKspiration Challenge #178

 Hi and welcome!

And thanks so much for popping in.  I know time is important so I really appreciate you being here.

Colour INKspiration Challange #178 has kicked off over on Facebook.  This challenge will run until Monday 9 December 2024 and if you're inspired by my project, I would love for you to join in.  The inspiration photo for this Challenge was chosen by fellow Crew Member, Vicki Boucher and our Guest Designers are the amazing Janette Goodall and Yvonne Spikmans-Van Bruggen.

I've created a very clean and simple Christmas card.  A great design for posting as it's a very much a less-is-more design.  The tree was watercoloured using the two green inks on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and the baubles/decorations were die-cut from Calypso Coral cardstock with Wink Of Stella added for some sparkle.  The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive ink.

This was matted onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock and then adhered to a Soft Seafoam card base.

To complete the card, I added a strip of watercoloured paper onto a strip of Old Olive and glued this to a piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered this to the inside.

Outside of this Challenge, you could really have fun using other colours with this same design.

SUPPLIES:

  • Inks:  Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, Wink of Stella
  • Cardstock:  Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
  • Stamp Set:  Decorative Trees
  • Dies:  Merriest Trees
  • Tools:  Flat Water Painter brush (or some other flat paint brush), masking/painters tape, Clear Block F (or some other non-porous surface), stamp positioning tool, Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine
